A popular Hudson Valley restaurant is the best-reviewed restaurant in upstate New York, according to a brand new report that was released.

Citing data from Yelp, NewYorkUpstate has released its new report of the municipalities that feature the top businesses in categories ranging from best pizzeria to specialty stops such as vegetarian restaurants and sushi bars. Factors that determine ranking include the number of reviews, star ranking and number of negative reviews.”

The report only includes restaurants from upstate - which is considered north of Westchester and Rockland counties - in the rankings. "Best" has been measured using an algorithm that looks at the number of reviews and star rating for a business, as well as other factors like the number of negative reviews and recency of reviews.

Rossi Rosticceria Deli on South Clover Street in Poughkeepsie landed at the top spot on the list. The report cited 352 nearly universally positive reviews, which earned them a five-star rating, making it the "number one overall restaurant in upstate New York."

"Oh my goodness. I ordered the Muffuletta. It changed my whole world. It's soo good! This deli is tucked away but absolutely worth the trip to Poughkeepsie for it. I'll never go to another deli again," one user gushed. "There is a counter where you can make your own sandwich or order one they've already created (all look super amazing) and then they get it to you fast. While inside there's also a market of frozen food, pasta and dessert."
